Claridge’s elegant art deco Bar plays host to London’s movers and shakers in the worlds of fashion, film and fortune. Designed by David Collins the original art deco features have been set off beautifully with a silver leafed ceiling, green glass chandelier, red leather banquettes and shiny round tables, topped with a single dark red rose. It is deeply glamorous, has a serious sense of style and a vibrant atmosphere.
Cocktails are impeccable, classic and contemporary, served cold and in crystal and the very best spirits await connoisseurs. However the most popular order is of course champagne. And Claridge’s Bar offers one of the widest choices in London.
The bar menu, available between 12 noon and 11 pm, is worth a visit in its own right. There is a wide selection - choose for example, between sushi and sashimi, through to a warm roast lamb and hummus sandwich or fish and chips. The daily changing Bento Box, four courses on one square plate, is a must.
Toward the rear of the bar the aptly named Snuggery is a cosy seating area for up to 20 people. It can be reserved for private lunches or cocktail parties on request.
Claridge’s Bar operates a no reservation policy.
