The theatre director Michael Grandage is putting on five plays in the first season of his newly formed Michael Grandage Company. The first offering from the new theatre company will star Jude Law, Dame Judi Dench and Daniel Radcliffe among others in a 15-month West End season at the Noel Coward Theatre.

It begins with Privates on Parade by Peter Nichols (Dec 2012 – Mar 2013) starring Simon Russell Beale as a cross-dressing captain in the army theatre unit during the Malayan Emergency.

It is followed by a new play called Peter and Alice (Mar – Jun 2013) about the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan starring Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw of the BBC’s The Hour.

Daniel Radcliffe leads the cast in the Irish play The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin McDonagh (Jun – Aug 2013) about a young man desperate to escape his life when he hears about a Hollywood film being made on a neighbouring island.

And the season ends with two Shakespeare plays, with David Walliams and Sheridan Smith in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Sep – Nov 2013); and Jude Law in the title role in Henry V (Nov 2013 – Feb 2014).
