ROH TO STAGE THREE MACMILLAN BALLETS
Date: 23 Mar - 15 Apr 10
Event: Concerto / The Judas Tree / Elite Syncopations
Location: Royal Opera House
The
Royal Opera House (ROH) in London's
Covent Garden is to host three ballets next month to celebrate the "unique talent and versatility" of choreographer
Kenneth MacMillan.
Concerto,
The Judas Tree and
Elite Syncopations are set to run at the iconic central London venue between 23rd March and 15th April. The event represents a night of high-class entertainment for visitors to the city, including guests of the nearby
five star Connaught hotel.
"
MacMillan's vision has been vital in shaping
The Royal Ballet's style and repertory, and what better way to appreciate his art than with this rare chance to experience three contrasting works in a single performance," said organisers of the event. Visitors to the ROH will be able to enjoy the "abstract, dramatic and humorous" performances which will be set to music by
Dimitry Shostakovich,
Brian Elias and
Scott Joplin respectively.
Sarah Lamb, who is set to perform in all three productions, will be joined onstage by a number of acclaimed dancers including Steven McRae, Carlos Acosta and
Marianela Nunez.
Visit the
ROH to see three contrasting ballets in one night after you enjoy a pre-show meal at the
Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
