ELECTION SATIRE TO OPEN ON LONDON STAGE
Date: 01 Mar - 13 Mar 10
Event: Party
Location: The Arts Theatre
Visitors to
London next month will be able to see a political satire on the city's stage as the UK builds up to its own general election.
Party, which scooped the
Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe, is to open at the
Arts Theatre in central London between 1st and 13th March. The venue, which sits between
Leicester Square and Covent Garden, is easily accessed from the
five star Claridge's hotel which offers its guests luxury pre-show meals in
The Reading Room restaurant.
Tom Basden, Anna Crilly, Tim Key, Jonny Sweet and Katy Wix are all set to perform in the "hilarious" production which tells the story of "four young idealists" who decide to start their own political party in a garden shed.
"
Party is about small minds tackling big issues - China, sex trafficking, cycle lanes, unfair trade coffee, whether to call the party 'The Friendly Party' or 'Gladios', and when, exactly, they should break to eat a cake," said the theatre.
Visit the
Arts Theatre for a dose of election satire after you check in to
Claridge's.
