    • We're All Ears: The Dead Rabbit at Claridge's

      Booking Now Open

Voted the World's Best Bar 2016, New York's celebrated Irish drinking tavern The Dead Rabbit is rolling its unruly wagons into Claridge's Bar for an exclusive week-long takeover. The multi award-winning 19th-century-style bar will be recreated, complete with ragtime piano playing and authentic New York-style service - bringing Manhattan to the heart of Mayfair.

      Sittings & Walk-ins

Each sitting is for 90 minutes – and yes, you’re welcome to turn up even if you didn’t manage to snag a reservation (and they’re going quick: hint). We’ll still get you a table, even if it means you have to wait a while in the Taproom area – perhaps with a killer New York cocktail or the best Guinness in London. Which wouldn’t be the worst thing now, would it?

      The name

The brainchild of Irishmen Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, The Dead Rabbit is named after a notorious Irish street gang that patrolled Lower Manhattan during the 1850s. The story of leader and prize fighter John Morissey is told through the bar’s graphic comic-style cocktail menu, which is also being replicated for the Claridge’s pop-up.

      The place

A place of pilgrimage for cocktail-lovers, The Dead Rabbit occupies a landmark three-storey building in Lower Manhattan, dating back to 1828. The Claridge’s pop-up will recreate the bar's second-floor ‘Parlor’, serving an edited choice of its signature cocktails and specialities from its hearty food menu.

      The respect

Named World's Best Bar twice, The Dead Rabbit has won so many awards, they've had to move some of their whiskey bottles to make room on the shelf. Then add some more shelves.
