World's Best Bar 2016 Pops Up at Claridge's

      AUGUST 15-22, 2017

Voted No 1 at the World’s Best Bars 2016, New York’s celebrated Irish drinking tavern The Dead Rabbit is rolling its wagons into Claridge’s Bar for an exclusive week-long pop-up. The multi award-winning 19th-century-style bar will be authentically recreated, complete with ragtime piano playing and authentic New York-style service, bringing Manhattan to the heart of Mayfair.

      The name

Originally the brainchild of Irishmen Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, The Dead Rabbit is named after a notorious Irish street gang that patrolled Lower Manhattan during the mid-19th century. The story of gun-totin’ gang leader John Morissey is told through the bar’s graphic comic-style cocktail menu, which is also being replicated for the Claridge’s pop-up.

      The place

A place of pilgrimage for cocktail lovers, The Dead Rabbit occupies a landmark three-storey building in Lower Manhattan, dating back to 1828. The Claridge’s pop-up will recreate its second-floor ‘Parlor’, serving an edited choice of its signature cocktails and specialities from its hearty food menu.

      The respect

The Dead Rabbit was voted No 1 at the World’s Best Bars 2016 and awarded World’s Best Cocktail Menu at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail bartenders festival in 2015.
