    • Out and about in London

Recommended by our very own general manager Paul Jackson

Autumn is one of the most enchanting times to explore London. There are some terrific new shows on, plus exhibitions and events that you won’t want to miss.

      Royal Academy of Arts

Right on our doorstep, there’s the Royal Academy of Arts, which is Britain’s oldest fine arts society, founded in 1768. It holds a rolling programme of fantastic exhibitions, plus to get there you go right past Burlington Arcade and Savile Row, so there are a few discreet shopping opportunities en route.

      British Museum

A short walk or a quick cab will take you to the British Museum for Sunken cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds, a major cultural exhibition that you can take at your own pace.

      Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

This is the biggest of the outdoor rinks in London (at 1,600 square metres), set around a Victorian bandstand with 100,000 twinkling lights strung over the rink - a magical setting. The Winter Wonderland also has a Christmas market, Magical Ice Kingdom, circus and fairground attractions; a popular rink with families. November 18-January 2, 2017
