• London Guide - Spring 2013 Claridge's
    • Out and about in London

Recommended by our very own general manager Paul Jackson

Summer is one of the most enchanting times to explore London. There are some terrific new shows on, plus exhibitions and events that you won’t want to miss.

Botticelli reimagined at the Victoria & Albert Museum

This is an exhibition about our enduring love of Botticelli and how the images he created influenced other artists and continue to inspire art and popular culture to this day. The V&A is showing over 50 Botticelli originals alongside modern reinterpretations which are quite fascinating and even risqué.

      Theatreland's Sunset Boulevard

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical Sunset Boulevard stars Glenn Close, reprising her Tony Award-winning role as Norma Desmond, at the London Coliseum. Catch it while you can.

      The Queen's 90th Birthday

This summer sees the birthday party to top all others as HM the Queen celebrates her 90th birthday. A four-day extravaganza at Windsor Park in May is followed by a huge street party on The Mall in June – and many parts of London are gearing up with special events. We’re offering a series of guided walks entitled ‘Her Majesty’s Mayfair’, to take you round the key addresses of our neighbourhood which are associated with the Queen and the Royal Family. Be sure to come back to our Fumoir bar for a restorative cocktail afterwards.
