• London Guide - Spring 2013 Claridge's
    • Out and about in London

Recommended by our very own General Manager Thomas Kochs

Spring is one of the most enchanting times to explore London. Mayfair always seems so much more vibrant as the city emerges from hibernation. There are some terrific new shows on, plus exhibitions and events that you won’t want to miss.

      Manet at the Royal Academy

Within walking distance, make a trip to see ‘Manet: Portraying Life’ at the Royal Academy. It’s a stunning exhibition, the first ever retrospective devoted to the artist, bringing together works from all over the world.

      Theatreland's Macbeth

Theatreland’s hottest ticket can only be James McAvoy’s electrifying Macbeth at the Trafalgar Studios (9 February to 27 April). On the doorstep of Whitehall, it’s the perfect place for Shakespeare’s Scottish play on power and corruption.

      University boat race

The Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race (31 March) is one of the world’s most watched sporting events – and it takes place on the Thames. Head down to the river with the crowds, but be sure to come back to our Fumoir for a restorative cocktail.
